THE IMPORTANCE OF PARTICIPATING IN TEAM SPORTS
Overview Statement : The Building Blocks

We would like to acknowledge the important role that all teachers, committee members, coaches, referees, parents, players and spectators have towards the formation and development of team sports in Australia.

The contribution of their time to train and give guidance to our young sports people is most important and valuable in shaping the players' personalities and character for life. Without this commitment from individuals from the various schools, sporting clubs, junior and senior players would be denied the very valuable experience of particpating in team sports.

Those who have retired from playing sport can also influence and affirm the school and sporting clubs that are guiding and shaping the new players of the game. Your positive contribution allows the sporting community to become involved in nurturing and creating an atmosphere of harmony and goodwill within the school and club, which overflows to the wider community. Positive role model images portrayed and the affirming of good codes of conduct are automatically passed on to the next generation of young sports' people, sometimes without a word being spoken.

Guiding our young sport persons is a shared responsibility by all involved.
